A service stripe, commonly called a hash mark, is a decoration in the Elf military which is presented to enlisted members of the military to denote length of service. Each stripe is awards after four (4) years of duty. After twelve (12) years in the navy and you have a good conduct medal you can receive a good conduct varient which is gold stripes.
